Class Basics
Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) is a vibrant Mexican celebration honoring ancestors and loved ones who have passed. The decorated sugar skull, or calavera, is its most recognizable face: cheerful rather than grim, and a reminder that remembering can be joyful.
In this beginner level needle felting workshop with local fiber artist Kim Keelor, you'll craft your own Día de los Muertos mask from wool and silk. Bright, bold, and entirely your own. Hang it on a wall, prop it on a mantel, or use it as a mask for your own celebration.
Class Detail
What you'll learn:
• Needle felting fundamentals, from raw fiber to finished felt
• How to shape and sculpt wool with needles
• Blending wool colors to make your mask distinct
Held in our comfortable Pavilion with all materials and tools provided. Beginners welcome, ages 13 and up. All materials included.
