Description: Hard not to fall in love with this native, low-growing, deciduous groundcover. It's like everything you love about our native tree, the Dogwood, but spreading low over your landscape to create a lush green carpet. Showy white flowers that float above foliage are followed by clusters of bright red berries in fall, providing food for birds and wildlife. Shades of burgundy, rusty red, and purple foliage create an extra-special fall show. Well-suited to the dappled shade of natural, woodland spaces. Spreads by rhizomes, so for the budget-conscious (with a little patience), this will fill in your tricky spots perfectly. This is an under-utilized native ground cover, perfect for steep banks.
