Description: Patriot is one of the most cold-hardy northern highbush blueberries you can grow, making it an excellent choice for gardeners at the higher elevations of Macon County and beyond. It produces large, flavorful berries early in the season and has better tolerance for less-than-perfect soil drainage than most highbush varieties, giving mountain gardeners more flexibility in siting it. The vivid red fall color is a genuine bonus. Self-fertile; however, they will produce a considerably higher yield when planted with another North Highbush variety that blooms at the same time. Blooms late spring.
