2026 Fall Mill Tour

Stone mills, spinning water, and sheep that love a snack. Join us at Winding Stair's Mountain Farm location (not the retail nursery) for a one-day-only fall farm tour on Saturday, October 10.
Watch water rush from the Trough Branch bypass and set our 18-foot water wheel turning, then follow the inner workings of two stone-burr mills as they grind the 100% organic corn grits, polenta, and cornmeal we sell at our nursery. Our hand-built mill was featured in Old Mill News as a showcase of traditional Appalachian craftsmanship.
Then hand-feed our friendly Icelandic sheep (treats provided, so leave the snacks in the car) and meet our free-roaming heritage poultry flock.
Last year's tour sold out. Two sessions available, and both are capped to keep groups small, so grab your spot early.
